Two New Works (Church Plants) Approved for Shelby County
Shelby Baptist Association Executive Board met on Tuesday, May 15, and approved partnering with two pastors as they begin new works in Shelby County.
The Church at Chelsea-Westover currently meets at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday and is located at 11063 Highway 280 in Westover (SERVEPRO Training Center). Dr. Danny Lovett and his wife, Susan, come to Shelby County with vast experience. Danny has served as pastor, educator and director along with authoring several published works to encourage and develop Christian life and evangelism.
David Mills and his wife, Noel, will begin a new work named Rushing Wind Church in west Helena in June 2012. David is a gifted evangelist, who has a burden for Shelby County. He is also currently a high school social studies teacher and retired Major in the Air Force Reserves. He has served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
Established churches from Shelby Baptist Association have also joined with these new works to assist, encourage and mentor as they begin to build a strong core group for leadership. Shelby Baptist Association continues to develop Kingdom Work by providing financial assistance, mentoring/training and other ministries offered through your contributions to the Association and Century Club along with its churches and volunteers who serve daily at our Ministry Center.

Daily Manna from the Net for Saturday, May 19, 2012 [Psalm 17:1-8]
A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, my plea is just; listen to my cry. Hear my prayer--it does not rise from deceitful lips. Let my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right. Though you probe my heart, though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil; my mouth has not transgressed. Though people tried to bribe me, I have kept myself from the ways of the violent through what your lips have commanded. My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled. I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings Psalm 17:1-8 NIV
