The Shelby Baptist Association will be hosting a mission trip to Čhankú Wašté Ranch

I. Trip Details:
A. Primary work: Construction. The only other volunteer opportunity is serving on the cooking team. The cooking team leader is already in place. She will not need more than two helpers.
B. Costs: @ $200 plus travel, sight seeing expenses, meals eaten while traveling and sight seeing.
1. The mission trip fee covers: Lodging on the Rez, most Meals, Resource Fees, and T-Shirt.
2. Transportation:
a) Your choice – driving or flying but each person is responsible for their transportation.
b) SBA will help coordinate the flying option if there is enough interest.
c) Closest airport is in Rapid City, SD. Transportation to and from the airport in Rapid City will be provided by personnel from the Ranch.
d) Driving option will be handled by each individual.
C. Lodging:
1. On the Rez:
a) Bunkhouse style rooms: gender separated in the main building
b) Showers/Restroom: gender specific in the main building (2 for each gender)
c) Beds are single size and two stacks of three per room. (3 rooms on each side of the building). Each person is responsible for their own bedding and towels.
d) Should someone desire to bring their RV, there are accommodations for two units. (Water, Sewage, and Electric Connections)
2. Traveling: If you choose to drive, travel accommodations are on your own.
D. Meals:
1. On the Rez:
a) There is a commercial kitchen in the main building.
b) We will have a cooking team.
c) If you have dietary needs due to health issues, advance notice is requested to accommodate.
II. Great Needs:
A. Prayer – War has been raged on the Lakota people. We need God’s people to stand with us, believing that none of this happens without a move of God. Čhankú Wašté Ranch is willing to fight for a victory. Will you commit to fight with us?
B. Partnerships – Professional Ministry and resource partners that will be able to further our capabilities.
C. Funds – We are looking for financial partners to help fund our strategy.
D. Staff – We are asking God to send us a family to work alongside of us in full-time ministry.
III. Trip Plans:
A. Type of Work to be done:
1. Construction: Specific projects are still in the works. They could be at some of the churches on the Rez, in homes on the Rez, or at the Ranch.
B. Trip Timeline:
1. Non-refundable deposit of $75 due February 24
2. Team Training Meeting: Sunday, April 28 at 2:30 PM at the SBA office.
3. Final payment ($125) for trip due: April 28.
4. Everyone should be at the Ranch Monday, May 13 at noonish. We will work our projects Monday afternoon through Friday noon. Everyone should plan on leaving Saturday morning.
